Moon, worn thin to the width of a quill

I am missing a total lunar eclipse, which will be visible in Arizona in the small hours of the morning. One of my early memories is of being wakened and carried outside to see a lunar eclipse in New Mexico. It was strange magic.

We just watched it in Sydney. It began at 7 ish and now at 8:10pm the moon is completely covered in shadow. The kids didn't have much interest, just enjoying bouncing on the trampoline. Still, they might remember it. It is meant to be winter but 25C today and even in the evening T-Shirt weather. Pretty though, the eclipse.

They might remember it.. hard to say what will stick in the memory. I am glad you got to see it.

I'll have to wait til February for the next one.
